James Maroney

James L. Maroney creates wonderful, whimsical, functional pieces of art from found objects. James said “It came to me as far back as I can remember, that if you walked down the street on garbage day you could partake in your very own treasure hunt.” James figured out that if he collected enough of this bounty, that others would discard, he could make art that is useful or just plain fun to play with. James continues the tradition of “Tramp Art”, born out of necessity, by homeless men and women who rode the rails going from town to town. In route they picked up common discarded items and turned them into saleable items. James dedicates his work to all the men and women whose lives depended on this art form in order to exist.
